Angling in Uttarakhand (8th March, 2016) :The state government is organizing its first angling festival, scheduled for April, at the Pancheshwar confluence of the rivers Kali and Sarayu in the Champawat district bordering Nepal. This festival is designed to attract more foreign tourists who are interested in the angling activity. Angling is a kind of sports in which the players catch the fish, study the length and other details of the fish before leaving it back into the water without inflicting any harm.
The angling spot was finalized after concluding the decision by finding the place plenty of mahaseer, acclaimed as the best sporting fish in the world. The final dates have to be disclosed in near future. The main idea is to attract the foreign tourists who are much inclined to this sport and Uttarakhand has plenty of such places with scenic beauty. The tourism department shall also formalize the modalities of the festival in consultation with the Angling Association of India and work out rules and regulations of the sport.
The state department will hold such festivals to spread the awareness of this sport among the locals and later the locals themselves shall be able to organise the angling events at their localities.
As per internal sources, the events like that at Pancheshwar shall be held at different places in all over Uttarakhand. So, be ready for angling event to rejuvenate your soul and mind.
