beas-kundBeas Kund is the source of river Beas located in Kullu valley of Himanchal Pradesh State. The altitude of this place is at 3690 mtr. The trek is along the Beas River surrounded by mesmerizing scenery full of captivating high peaks, small rivulets. The treks above 2000 mtrs. are very enjoyable, due to change in the vegetation, wildlife, geophysical changes, weather, and many other factors. The air would be free of pollution, cold, and the far off places would seem to be more visible. The snow capped mountains would be enchanting, and the mountains peaks would call you to reach at top. You would want to have a cup of coffee / tea with snacks to relax your tiring body after a long walk. The clouds enveloping the far flung mountain peaks would give you a spectacular view, and within few minutes you may see the clouds moved to another place from the peak. The feel of grass while sitting on them won’t bother you, and you would want to lay down for quite a few moment. The camping in the meadows for snacks / lunch or night stay will always give you pleasure, due to the distinct set up on all treks. The Himalayan region is blessed with beautiful sites, and you will always get surprise after every milestone on the trek routes.

The itinerary:

Day zero: Before the start of the trek, all the trekkers shall reach Manali.

1st day:  Manali to Bhakartach (3300 mtr.)

The first day would start from Manali to Dhundi (3150 mtr.) by road followed by trek to Bhakartach.

Manali to Dhundi (21 km road, ½ to 1 hour)

Dhundi to Bhakartach(5 km, 3 – 4 hours trek)

2nd day: Bhakartach to Beas kund (3 km trek, 3660 mtr.)

Bhakartach to Beas Kund (…..km trek,  5 hours)

The second day after taking breakfast, the trek shall proceed to Beas Kund. After reaching Beas Kund, one can spend one hour or two and come back to camp at Bakartach. The total trek distance would be 6 km.

3rd day: Back to Manali via Dhundi on foot and then by road till Manali.

How to reach Manali from New Delhi:

New Delhi to Chandigarh 246 km.

Chandigarh to Manali 310 km.
