The dazzling body of water is surrounded by an extremely dense forest of oak, pine, deodar and rhododendron that gives it a primeval appearance. The lake is filled with fish, including the rare Himalayan trout. No angling is however allowed without a valid permit from the Forest Department. The forest is rich in different kinds of wildlife and colourful birds – it is a bird watcher’s delight too.
Dodital is located at a height of 3024 mtr above the sea-level and is fed by natural springs in its depths. The water is calm and placid.
Located at 5 km from Agora, is a fisheries centre at a place called Kalyani.
