Dream Mountain Resort is located on the outskirts of Joshimath town on way to the famous ski slopes of Auli. The open space of the resort campus covers three large terraces, thus allowing activities such as open-air parties, cultural demos for the guests and bonfires in the evening in an open terrace specially flag-stoned for that purpose. The sprawling campus includes over twenty pine trees, two full grown walnut trees, and several peach and cherry trees. At Dream Mountain Resort you do not hear the sound of a city street or the cacophony of traffic. Instead you will hear the sound of wind whistling in the pine tree and the singing birds that come visiting because of the fruit trees in the campus.
Accommodation has been deliberately limited to maximise open spaces and greenery, thus enhancing the feeling of being in the midst of nature. Guests can choose between staying in the five luxury tents or our standard and deluxe rooms.
The town of Joshimath derives its name from the Jyotirmath. Adiguru Shankracharya was on a mission to revive Hinduism which had been eclipsed by Buddhism. At first, a monastery (मठ) was established by him at Joshimath and Dham (धाम) at Sri Badrinath. The monastery established in Joshimath in the 8th century C.E., today known by the name Jyotirmath, has a huge mulberry tree in its precincts. This huge mulberry tree is said to be around 2400 years old and located atop a cave where Adiguru had meditated. Today hundreds of pilgrims visit Adiguru’s seat at jyotirmath to listen to the holy discourse called parvachan every evening.…. read more
